Background programs:- One of the most common reason for a slow computer are programs running in the background. Remove or disable any startup programs that which are running automatically.

Delete temp files:- As a computer runs programs, temporary files are stored on the hard drive. Deleting these temp files can help improve computer performance.

First, use the windows Disk Cleanup utility to delete temporary files and other files no longer needed on the computer.

  • In this task manager you can see how much data is using of each program.

How can i stop an program which is running in background?

  • Press control+Alt+Delete and there you will see task manager click on that.
  • Look at the list of running programs and which is unusual give right-click on that program
  • With the appropriate program which is highlighted, click the "End Task" button at the bottom of the task manager window and that program will stops.
And you can remove the running programs which are running in the background those programs can be deleted in the cmd 
  • Open cmd by pressing in the windows search you will get the cmd.
  • And there you type "tasklist" there you see the what are running programs in the background.
  • By using this " taskkill /f  /im chrome.exe " by doing like this you can close the file which is slowing system.
Update Windows:-
  • Make sure that you have all the latest windows updates installed.
  • If you are on the internet when your computer is slow, make sure that all browser plugins are up-to-date.
Free hard drive space:-
Verify that there is at least 200-500MB of free hard drive space. This available space allows the computer to have room for the swap file to increase in size, as well as room for temporary files.
